Overview
Finalists will deliver a 10 minute presentation on a topic dealing with the engineering behaviour of the ground, relating to a construction/design project or research. There will be 5 minutes of questions per candidate and the winner will be decided by a panel of professional engineers.
The finalists:
- Samuel Clarke – ‘CP6 Oakley Embankment – to regrade, or not to regrade?’
- Nima Sarmadi – ‘Deformation analysis insights in tailings dam design’
- Milo Hughes – ‘Overcoming geotechnical challenges for the A9 dualling Tomatin to Moy’
- Matthew Tapp – ‘Corie Glas ground investigation and exploratory adit construction’
There will be a short break after the presentations for refreshments and networking opportunities.
