Overview

Who is this for? Those making an application for approval to act as a supervising civil engineer (SCE) for the ICE training scheme, or as a mentor for mentor supported training.

When to attend? If you have made, or intend making, an application for the SCE and/or the mentor role. If you are already an SCE, mentor or delegated engineer, attendance is also suggested, to be updated approx. once every two years.

Why attend? To gain an understanding of the role, responsibilities and the IPD online system.  A briefing on the responsibilities of the role is required prior to being approved.

How long is the session? 120 mins with a 10-minute break

What will it contain? The roles and responsibilities of SCEs, DEs and mentors will be summarised, and guidance provided on the activities associated with supporting trainees through their initial professional development. An insight into the IPD online system will also be provided.

The session will be delivered by membership recruitment team staff in MS Teams.
