About this event

Four out of the top 12 key infrastructure decisions pressed by the National Infrastructure Commission for urgent action by the Government relate to energy. We have the construction of Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, the recently published NIC plan to upgrade the UK's energy system and the substantial body of other infrastructure and construction work to take place over the next few years. This begs the question, what work needs to take priority? Who is going to do it? Can technological advances overcome the shortfall in our infrastructure? How do we make sure the UK keeps a secure energy supply in the future?

To consider the possibilities, we will have a panel comprised of leading industry experts and key decision makers (Names to be confirmed shortly). Each of these principal participants will be invited to make a short opening statement about their particular field and area of influence (lack of funds, political will, safety etc). This will then be followed by questions from the audience.

Although questions from the floor on the evening will be very welcome, we would also appreciate questions beforehand to be able to concentrate on themes that are important to the audience. (These questions will not be revealed to the participants before the event, but they will be informed of any themes that emerge).
