Overview
In this webinar, ahead of COP26, we focus on UN SDG 15, life of land, arguably the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal most impacted by engineering interventions.
Join us to hear from women engineers about how their work is addressing climate change, whilst meeting the challenges of the UN SDG 15 - the Sustainable Development Goal which aims to “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably managed forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss”. Climate change and biodiversity loss are twin crises that should be tackled together. Working with nature in conserving, managing and restoring ecosystems will be essential if we are to be successful in addressing these crises.
The Women's Engineering Society (WES) launched their Climate Emergency Group earlier this year led by Sally Sudworth, Global Head of Sustainability & Climate Change for Mott MacDonald. Within the Climate Emergency Group, teams of women engineers are tackling different aspects of the climate emergency and the SDGs. In this webinar we focus on SDG 15, life of land, arguably one of the SDGs most impacted by engineering interventions.
