Join ICE East Midlands Graduates and Students Committee for a talk on the most current and applied information available on Construction industry and environmental issues.
Presented by Dr. Jahangir Mirza, Adjunct Professor for the Department of Civil Engineering at York University, Toronto, Canada, the discussion will be on alternatives and solutions involving minimum cement usage and maximising natural, industrial and agricultural recyclable materials in green construction.
The presentation will include salient technical, energy-related, environmental, and economical advantages of using those materials in everyday construction applications. The presentation could be of interest to those associated with construction industry, including design and materials engineers; architects; engineering technicians; engineers working in governmental agencies and consulting firms; engineering faculty and students; as well as ready-mixed concrete producers, concrete product manufacturers, and contractors. It will also provide significant help to people from utilities and other industries producing recyclable materials.
