Overview
Doune Castle has seen a dramatic increase in visitor numbers due to its film set popularity, having featured in Monty Python, Game of Thrones and Outlander.
The Doune Castle Footbridge project has been the construction of a new timber arch footbridge to improve access to the historic site and other local attractions. The project is a leading example of what can be achieved in sustainable, cost-effective construction with eye catching aesthetics that will significantly enhance the visitor experience at Doune Castle. The success of this project is likely to promote the use of timber for other sites.
This presentation will be delivered by representatives of the client, designer and contracting teams and will start after a short Annual General Meeting for ICE Edinburgh.
