Emerging Engineer Award finalists from across the East Midlands will present their civil engineering-related papers. Attendees can look forward to fascinating presentations and Q&A with the finalists and gain valuable learning from the Judging Panel's insights! All welcome to attend online!
The Emerging Engineer Award (EEA) promotes and rewards excellence in the communication of civil engineering ideas and innovation, research and best practice on projects/design. The presentations will be followed by question and answer sessions where audience members are encouraged to participate.
The papers shortlisted for this year’s regional heat are:
- Mineralogical Changes Affecting High Plasticity Clays in Transport Earthworks
- Benefits and Challenges of Blasting Bedrock, Specifically Whilst Developing Infrastructure
- Investigation into Bridge Pier Scour

The winner will be announced on the day, 7 May 2020 and the regional winner will be shortlisted for the national Emerging Engineers Award final, where the prestigious Institution Medal and further prizes can be won.
