Overview
Gatwick Airport is confident in its future and a return to growth following the Covid-19 pandemic.
In this meeting, Gatwick will present plans to bring the existing Northern Runway into routine use, whilst meeting all international safety standards.
The proposals are a low-impact way of unlocking new capacity and increased resilience from the airport’s existing infrastructure that would generate 18,400 additional jobs and £1.5 billion for the region by 2038. The scheme will help secure the airports long-term growth, bring new global connections, and allow an increase in passenger capacity to approximately 75 million passengers per annum by 2038.
