Overview
This lecture will give an overview of the various applications of geogrid system technology in civil engineering infrastructure, including the origin and evolution of geogrids, a succinct summary of 40+ of proprietary R&D related to geogrid systems performance, and illustrating real cost and carbon savings through case studies.
The ultimate aim of the lecture is to encourage the construction industry to think of using alternative construction methods, like geogrid systems, that can produce robust, sustainable and resilient infrastructure while addressing Climate Change, thereby actioning the current ICE President’s pledge towards ‘shaping zero’.
