Overview
Adam Round, ECC Project Manager, Lincolnshire County Council, will talk about the Lincoln Eastern Bypass, a new 8km stretch of carriageway to the east of Lincoln Connecting the A158 in the north with the A15 to the south.
In addition to providing a new crossing of the River Witham to the east of the city centre, the Bypass will also remove the large number of HGVs that currently have to travel through the city centre past Lincoln's iconic cathedral.
Adam will give a brief background to the scheme up to commencement on site in 2017, as well as describe the particular engineering and other external challenges faced and how they were overcome by the site team, including a change of contractor, flooding and Covid-19.
