Overview
Join Nottingham, Leicester and Derby (NLD) Branch and Galliford Try for this presentation focused on the A52 footbridge construction.
Highlighting some of the challenges and successes of the project, Galliford Try will present on the successful installation of the new foot and cycle bridge spanning the A52 in central Derby.
Forming an important link between the residential district of Chaddesden and the retail business parks surrounding Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium, the 180-tonne steel bridge was delivered to site in sections. The bridge was then assembled on temporary works alongside the A52 close to its final position.
Using a 60-tonne-capacity crawler crane, the completed bridge was lifted into place during a weekend road closure and is now part of the Wyvern Transport Improvement Scheme.
The presentation will be preceded by the NLD Branch Annual General Meeting (AGM).
