Overview
In 2019, Farrans was awarded a £17.6m design and build contract by Transport Scotland. The Haudagain Roundabout is a major road junction in Aberdeen which is currently operating at limited capacity. The contract involves the construction of around 500m of new dual carriageway connecting the A92 (formerly A90) North Anderson Drive and the A96 Auchmill Road, alleviating the bottlenecks at the notorious roundabout. The project will also enable new pedestrian and cycling routes through the local area.
This is a high profile project in a sensitive area which has required agreement from many stakeholders. The road passes through a residential area which has a high concentration of utilities which need to be diverted, made safe and placed in a temporary area. Following consultation with stakeholders, Farrans is providing safe access to the site and working collaboratively with the various utility providers.
This project is due to complete in Winter 2021.
