Overview
The presentation will provide an overview of the Equality Act 2010 and its impact on the workplace. The Equality Act aims to ensure that all job applicants and employees are treated fairly and equally in the workplace.
During this interactive presentation, the protected characteristics identified in the Equality Act will be discussed, along with the protection provided to individuals from discriminatory treatment such as direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, victimisation and harassment.
The webinar will discuss common pitfalls and errors made, potential employment tribunal claims that can be submitted by employees, potential reputational damage to an employer, and the potential liability on an employer and on individuals personally should things go wrong.
There will also be consideration of the workplace best practice that will help avoid potential discrimination claims, and practical guidance for employers and individuals to ensure fair and equal treatment in the workplace.
