About this event

This major Energy from Waste (EfW) plant converts household waste into electricity. The process also dramatically reduces the need for landfill.

The Benefits of Energy from Waste:

  • Reduction in the nation's overall carbon footprint.
  • Generation of sustainable heat and electricity.
  • Meeting EEC directives to reduce the amount of waste disposed off into landfill sites (35% of 1995 levels by 2015).
  • Achieve the renewable energy targets (up to 15.4% by 2015).

PPE is not required: Sensible shoes, long sleeves and trousers for ladies. Please car share!
