The project will provide sustainable flood risk management by constructing flood defence walls and installing a new tidal barrier to protect life and property from the risk of flooding. The £25 million project is funded by UK government, Ipswich Borough Council and New Anglian Local Enterprise Partnership.

The presenter will be Andrew Usborne from the Environment Agency.

The meeting point is VBA Site Offices, Bath Street, Ipswich, IP2 8SG. The site office car park is on the right at the end of Bath Street. Attendees should report to office reception.

Following an introduction and site inductions, we propose to travel across to the Middle Island site to view the works. Attendees should therefore bring the appropriate PPE, including safety boots, hi-viz jacket, safety helmet and gloves.

In view of the restricted office space and the nature of the site, we will need to limit numbers to around 15. Online booking is essential. Refreshments will be provided.
