About this event

In January 2017 Poole Harbour Commissioners commenced the construction of a new quay to increase the Port’s capacity for conventional cargoes and to facilitate the ever increasing interest from cruise ships wishing to visit Poole and the surrounding area. The quay will be 200m long x 40m wide, and is being constructed through reclamation on the South Eastern corner of the Port. Bam Nuttall is the Main Contractor, and works are on track for completion early in 2018.

The visit will commence at 16:00 with a short presentation by PHC Harbour Engineer Phil Armstrong at the Harbour Office, after which a bus will transport attendees to the site. The visit will conclude with light refreshments in the Boardroom courtesy of Poole Harbour Commissioners.

Car parking is available at the Harbour Office, 20 New Quay Road, Poole BH15 4AF. On arrival attendees should report to reception to collect a parking permit.

Numbers are limited and registration via the ICE booking system is essential.

Attendees should bring PPE if practical.
