About this event

National planning policy encourages Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in all major developments, unless there is clear evidence that this would be inappropriate. As of January 2019, SuDS are mandatory in Wales for all new developments over 100m². However, currently there is no consistent approach to allocating the long-term responsibilities for SuDS maintenance and adoption across England and Wales.

Sewers for Adoption 8 is expected to be implemented in early 2020 and likely to have a significant impact on the use of SuDS by setting out new standards and guidance. Ahead of this change, ICE and Wavin researched the perception and progress of SuDS in England and Wales.

Join us for an online discussion as we launch a new whitepaper highlighting the key findings of our research project.

This online event will:
  • Delve into engineers’ experience in understanding both the opportunities and challenges that new regulation pose in delivering effective SuDS in practice
  • Share professionals’ experience of the new guidance and regulations introduced in Wales recently, and identify possible areas for improvement
  • Explore perceptions surrounding current issues in the design and implementation of site-specific and multi-functional SuDS
Book for free now to join us online on 16 July and be among the first professionals to access the whitepaper and get new insights including industry statistics and new guidance advice.
