About this event

Our branch AGM is always brief and to the point but we welcome all those wishing to attend and encourage you to voice your opinions about the way your branch is run.

Following the AGM, the presentation will include the construction methodology for the demolition and reconstruction of Woodlands Lane Bridge, an overbridge on the M3 in Windlesham, Surrey. The bridge is a steel composite deck which spans 87m across the M3 motorway and has a 45 degree skew. The bridge was demolished in November 2016 and the main bridge beams erected in May 2017. The presentation will discuss the key design principles, planning of the works and the construction methodology.

About the speakers:

  • Ellie Wilson CEng MICE – Agent for Balfour Beatty responsible for the Woodlands Lane Bridge reconstruction.
  • Dimitrios Mitritsios – Sub Agent for Balfour Beatty in the Woodlands Lane Bridge team.
  • Stuart Clear – Engineering Manager for the M3 J2-4a Smart Motorway Project for Balfour Beatty who led the development of the engineering strategy for the Bridge demolition and reconstruction.
