About this event

Thanks to a new Government incentive programme, electricity sold into the UK energy market from an interconnector is guaranteed a good price.

With this robust regulatory framework in place, interconnector projects are welcoming more investment: Eleclink and NEMO are due to be completed in 2019, with Viking, FABlink, IFA 2 and Greenlink coming online post 2020.

As new developers enter into the market, it is crucial that they learn from those who have already seen success in delivering these large scale projects so they are prepared to overcome any technical and strategic challenges. ICE is leading this discussion by connecting old and new developers with contractors and technology providers at this networking evening.

Limited to 80 participants, this exclusive evening will provide the opportunity to have technical questions answered and to look to the future with a panel of experts experienced in overcoming the regulatory and technical challenges:

  • Ian Graves, Director of Business Development, National Grid
  • Matthew Coyne, Head of Interconnectors ad Offshore Transmission, Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
  • Ian Funnell, Managing Director UK, ABB

Delegates will:

  • Learn how the National Grid has successfully developed interconnectors and their plans for upcoming projects
  • Understand how to overcome technical challenges unique to interconnectors, including substation placing and subsea cabling
  • Hear from BEIS on the impact of Brexit on current and upcoming projects
  • Connect with senior stakeholders and discuss future business partnerships
