Overview

Dementia will affect up to fifty percent of us in some way or another in our lifetimes. For many, it’s too frightening or misunderstood, and this stigma can surround dementia in silence.

This masterclass will focus on the experience of dementia for both the person who has been diagnosed and their families.

During this webinar, we will explore:

  •     What is dementia?
  •     Understanding the experience of dementia
  •     Tips for how you can give the best support
  •     Finding out more information about dementia
  •     How the Ben Fund’s partnership with Dementia UK can support you and your family
  •     An opportunity to ask questions directly to an Admiral Nurse

Rachel was ‘Highly commended’ in the Foundation of Nursing Studies (FONS) Sue Pembrey Award 2018: Celebrating Nurse Leadership:

‘Rachel is passionate about patients and families and how she works and intervenes with families to enable a balance of care of the person with a dementia and for their nearest loved one who is often the carer.’

This year, Rachel is honoured to have been awarded the Queen’s Nurse title in recognition of her commitment to ongoing learning, leadership and excellence in healthcare, whilst demonstrating a continuing passion and enthusiasm for nursing.
