Sarah has been working for the ICE Benevolent Fund since 2018. She is passionate about the Ben Fund’s mission to support ICE members and their families wherever they are in the world.
National Autistic Society (NAS)
Specialist Lead
Sharon started her working life as a physicist then took a career break to care for her children including her son who is autistic with high support needs. She volunteered for the National Autistic Society for several years while completing a Masters in Adult Autism. She has worked for the NAS for over 7 years, starting out as the coordinator of transitions support and education advice services in Northern Ireland. She is currently Specialist Lead for Autism Support, responsible for the delivery of emotional support and benevolent fund services.

After university, Liz worked as a primary school teacher for more than 10 years before taking time out to complete a Psychology MSc and support her autistic son. In 2018 she began volunteering for the NAS School Exclusion Helpline and has been working for the NAS since January 2022. Initially, her role was as a caseworker on the School Exclusion helpline. She is now the autism support advisor, working as part of the Benevolent Fund Service.
