Overview

The Bristol Port Company was formed in 1991 when entrepreneurs Terence Mordaunt and David Ord purchased the Port of Bristol from Bristol City Council.

Since privatisation over £600 million has been invested to create a modern, thriving business offering the full range of shipping, distribution and logistics services.

The port is a nationally significant asset and a multimodal transport hub dealing with an eclectic range of cargoes.

Join John Chaplin, director of external affairs and special projects at The Bristol Port Company for a brief history of the port and overview of current activities. He'll also discuss recent major works in the dock estate and the port’s ambition to develop the Bristol Energy Transition Hub.

The talk is hosted by the ICE Taunton City Club.
