Overview

Campbeltown is a small remote Scottish town on the Kintyre peninsula and lies in Argyll and Bute Council (ABC) area.

Campbeltown had experienced extensive flooding over many years from several different sources which flooded premises and affected community life in general.

AECOM undertook detailed hydraulic modelling which provided the delivery of a fluvial flood protection scheme and a surface water management plan. AECOM were appointed as Project Managers and Designer for the scheme.

DAWSON WAM were appointed as Principal Contractor for the £16m Campbeltown Flood Protection (FPS) by ABC in June 2022 under an NEC3 Option A Contract.

Dylan would present from FPS development/modelling/design right through to Construction delivery,
Gerard would then talk through the key construction challenges and how they were overcome.

The presentation would focus on the successful collaboration between Client/Designer/Contractor and demonstrating how they contributed to the success of the project as well as highlighting how we got buy in from the whole remote community and how we brought them along the journey.
