Overview

Giles Perkins, the programme director for the £30m, 3-year Live Labs 2 initiative will provide an update on the work to decarbonise local roads assets. Through the 7 Live Labs Giles will detail how innovations in materials and services are being used to drive down the carbon associated with the enhancement, improvement, operation and maintenance of the local road network across the 4 nations.

The presentation will also cover the organisational behaviour changes required to tackle the significant carbon impacts associated with the road network.

He has worked in the public and private sectors as a senior client and director level consultant and has led major projects across all modes.  He is a recognised expert in the field of future mobility / transport and Zero Emission Mobility having undertaken numerous cutting-edge commissions where his insight is helping build ‘future ready’ thinking into strategies, policies and asset specifications. He is a systems thinker with an in-depth appreciation of the challenges facing all modes of transport resulting from disruptors, both within the transportation realm and wider socio-economic changes which influence it.
