Emerging Engineers Award finalists from across the East Midlands will present their civil engineering-related papers. ttendees can enjoy engaging presentations and gain valuable insights from the judging panel. All welcome to attend online!

The Emerging Engineers Award (EEA) promotes and rewards excellence in the communication of civil engineering ideas and innovation, research, and best practice on projects/design. The presentations will be followed by question-and-answer sessions where audience members are encouraged to participate.

Attending the EEA regional final offers a great chance to:

Daniel Anderson

Daniel is a civil engineer with 30 years’ experience, predominately in the Transportation Sector and is a Fellow of the Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT). He has worked for both consulting and contracting organisations and for the last 20 years has been in client facing roles.

He is the current chair of the ICE Lincolnshire Branch and an East Midlands Regional Committee Member.

Alex Romankiw

Alex Romankiw currently works as a sub-agent for a principal contractor on the HS2 project, previously working in highways and structures for a number of years. He rediscovered cycling during lockdown in 2020 and now is a member of several cycling campaign groups in his native Leicester, promoting active travel.

As a campaigner, he regularly meets with Leicester City Council and comments on cycling issues and improvements, including trialling the Santander Cycles Leicester bike-share scheme before public roll-out. He is also one of the Programme Secretaries for the ICE East Midlands G&S Committee.
