HKA G&S: joint society company visit to Gammon Construction Limited

Overview

The ICE HKA G&S is excited to announce an exclusive company visit to Gammon Construction, one of the leading construction companies in the region. This event is specially designed for university student members who are eager to gain firsthand insights into the dynamic world of construction and engineering. 

The visit will commence with an informative session aimed at acquainting participants with Gammon Construction's extensive portfolio and their pivotal role within the construction industry. This segment will offer a comprehensive overview of the sector, elucidating current trends, challenges, and emerging opportunities. 

Participants will then be guided through Gammon's cutting-edge BIM (Building Information Modelling) Cave. This immersive experience will showcase the transformative impact of advanced technology on project planning and execution. Attendees will observe 3D modelling and simulation tools in action, gaining insights into the digital innovations that are reshaping the industry. 

The visit will culminate in an engaging fireside chat with Gammon's seasoned engineers. This interactive session will provide a platform for participants to pose questions, exchange ideas, and garner valuable insights into the engineering and construction professions. Discussions will cover career trajectories, daily challenges, and the rewarding aspects of working within this dynamic field.

Note

• Registration will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to Student Members and undergraduate students. Only successful applicants will be notified.
• The event will be conducted primarily in Cantonese, and English terms will be introduced where appropriate.
• Attendance certificates will be provided within two weeks of the event only if attendees participate for the entire duration of the event.
• Applicants with no-show records will be given lower priority in future G&S events.
• The above is subject to change without prior notice. 

Adverse weather arrangement

The event will be cancelled or rescheduled to another date in case a black rainstorm signal or typhoon signal no. 8 or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at or after 13.00. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event in view of safety or other considerations.

The event will still be carried out in the case of amber or red rainstorm signal, or typhoon signal no. 3 is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at or after 13.00. Meanwhile, the rundown of the event will be slightly changed.
