Dr Jon Rains
Jon is the lead innovation manager for NEOM – THE LINE, where he develops the latest materials, processes and business models for the largest construction project in the world. He’s also a senior manager and innovation professional within the UK infrastructure industry, with experience in digital innovation, corporate venture capital and utilities project delivery.
Jon is a UK expert on BSI and ISO 56000 Innovation Management Standards committees, and project manager for Clathrate Desalination.
At Mott MacDonald, Jon developed and implemented the group innovation strategy for Mott MacDonald’s Global Water Sector, and leads the group innovation strategy as part of Mott MacDonald’s Excellence programme.
He also has extensive experience leading joint ventures and client and contractor secondments, and in delivering innovation management consultancy for clients. He was seconded to HS2’s innovation team to support the development of the Hybrid Venture Fund for construction startups.
