Overview

This unique event based at Whitwell Station near Reepham, will provide an interesting insight into the History, Heritage and the Future of Rail for the East of England.

Speakers topics will include:

  • Chris Lowe, Temporary Works Advisor from Kier Construction Engineering will be presenting on his knowledge and involvement with the Heritage Railways of Norfolk.
  • Mike Urry, Owner of and responsible for the renovation of Whitwell Station will present a short talk on the history and the refurbishment of Whitwell Station.
  • Chris Clarke from Kier Design Rail will provide an insight into the current challenges faced by rail in the east of England and what the future holds for Rail in the East of England.

There will also be an opportunity for event attendees join a tour of the newly restored signal box and ride aboard a diesel train on the full-size heritage railway. A buffet will also be provided for attendees.
