This year’s Speed Mentoring event, hosted in collaboration with the ICE Early Careers Network and the ICE Regional Committee, offers a dynamic and interactive opportunity for early career professionals to gain valuable insight into the civil engineering industry.
Attendees will take part in a series of rapid mentoring sessions, connecting with experienced professionals from a range of seniority levels – including professionally qualified members and ICE Fellows. Each mentor will lead discussions based around a key theme relevant to career development in the industry.
These themed discussions are shaped by popular demand and cover a broad spectrum of topics such as:
- Career progression and planning for the future
- Professional development, including study and chartership support
- Building new technical and soft skills
- Communication and influencing in the workplace
- People management and leadership in practice
Participants will join small groups and spend approximately 15 minutes with each mentor. This fast-paced, roundtable format allows for multiple meaningful conversations in a short amount of time, encouraging questions, insights, and sharing of personal experiences.
The event is designed to inspire, inform, and empower attendees with practical advice and perspectives they can take forward in their careers. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take the next step, Speed Mentoring is a unique chance to network, learn, and grow within the civil engineering profession.
