Join us for this month’s ICE Civil Engineering Reading Club event, part of a series of virtual social events to discuss reports and articles relating to anything within civil engineering, there might be a topic you have never heard of.
We will be choosing a reading topic in advance of the meeting and having a moderated discussion about it during the reading club. The link to this month’s reading material will be sent around in advance of the event.
The goal is to read a little about the topic ahead of the event and discuss it in a friendly group setting. We are hoping to cover the topic from a range of perspectives! While there will be a brief summary of the reading material at the beginning of the meeting, we recommend that attendees read through the article provided to get the most out of the session.
The purpose of the Reading Club is to encourage open conversation around our industry, help to keep civil engineers up to date with relevant news and literature, and provide a friendly, informal networking opportunity for any who wish to attend. While it is organised with early careers professionals in mind, the event is open to anyone who would like to join the conversation!
Committee members will be present to provide some prompts and questions to get the conversation going and moderate the conversation if need be.
For those of us with a long list of things-to-read that never seems to get shorter, this event is a great opportunity to make time for a bit of reading and a chat with a group of peers!
