Overview

Join Alan Willoner and Lorenzo Allievi as they share insights into the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme.

This is one of the largest, most complex, and innovative flood defence schemes ever designed and constructed in the UK and was delivered by the D&B contractor Bam Mott MacDonald JV.

The scheme is 19km in length. It has a CAPEX value of approximately £200M and a wide range of geotechnical challenges and solutions including approximately 10,000 piles and 1,000 anchors constructed with constrained access.

The presentation aims to share the highlights, and the lessons learnt, on topics including restricted access piling, constructability, interface with third party assets, seepage analysis, earthworks, value engineering, health & safety and sustainability.
