The UK Wind Engineering Society is pleased to welcome you to the Research Day 2017, which will be hosted by the Institution of Civil Engineers in London, on 20 September 2017. This is a half day event with the aim of encouraging and stimulating research in the field of Wind Engineering.
Research students and early career researchers and professionals working in the wind engineering field will present their work throughout the event. In addition, a keynote lecture will be given by Wind Engineering Society Chairman John Rees.
The young presenters will be competing for a prize offered by the Wind Engineering Society. The winner will also have their work featured in the following edition of the Wind Engineering Society newsletter, and will have the opportunity to present at one of the Society's evening technical meetings.
Research students and early career researchers and professionals who wish to present at the event are invited to submit a short abstract of 250 words describing their research. Topics can include any aspect of wind engineering or related fields (including wind loads on structures or vehicles, pollution dispersion, boundary layer meteorology, natural ventilation, pedestrian level wind environment, wind energy, full scale and model scale measurements, computational methods, etc.).
Abstracts should be submitted no later than 18 August 2017 by email to both event organisers Daniel Hackett (email@example.com) and Christoph Kent (firstname.lastname@example.org).
