The ICE wishes to celebrate the successes of those who build infrastructure that is fit for changing environmental and social climates, and who are putting nature and people at the heart of their decision making.
The Resilience Champions initiative aims to recognise efforts by individuals to make their infrastructure projects resilient, but also sustainable and/or inclusive by design. As well as highlighting the efforts of civil engineers and built environment professionals, the initiative aims to celebrate best practice and publish inspiring, replicable solutions, encouraging a mindset change on what good looks like.
The ICE now invites applicants to submit case studies that detail how they have integrated resilience considerations into a project, scheme or initiative. In order to be awarded Resilience Champions status, applicants must also demonstrate their consideration of sustainability and/or inclusivity (full definitions can be found in the guidance document).
Successful applicants will be invited to showcase their project or initiative on ICE’s website and will become part of ICE’s growing sustainability network.
For reassurance and to avoid any conflicts of interest, no members of the panel, including those from sponsoring organisations, assess submissions that involve their parent company.
Further information including Ts&Cs, FAQs, and the full list of application questions can be found within this guidance document.
