* The Graduate membership fee is an annual subscription that will be held at the same level each year for 2024, 2025 and 2026. The ICE's subscription year runs from January to December. Each year you will receive an ICE subscriptions invoice, detailing your ICE annual subscription and other subscriptions that you have signed up to. Payment for your annual subscription is due on 01 January each year.

** If your qualifications aren't automatically recognised by the ICE, we will review these when you apply for Graduate membership. If your review (academic assessment) is successful, you can then become a Graduate member. This assessment is being done free of charge for graduates based in Malaysia and Nigeria as part of this pilot project.

We will be assessing our fee structure at the end of the pilot period. Your Graduate membership fee and other application and assessment fees may change at this point. We will communicate the decision towards the end of the pilot period.

Other FAQs

The institution is committed to increasing the professionalism of the global engineering community.

The pilot scheme aims to reduce barriers and help graduates progress towards professional qualification with ICE in Malaysia and Nigeria.

The scheme will help the ICE to establish whether the affordability of membership and application fees is a fundamental barrier to membership and attaining a professional qualification.

The reduced subscription pilot programme has been designed in response to feedback from early careers professionals and wider stakeholders, in addition to our own desire to explore the benefits and influence that ICE activity could bring to countries where the cost of membership is a barrier.

We aim to do this primarily by supporting access to, and progression towards the ICE’s globally recognised professional qualification.

Malaysia and Nigeria have been chosen for this pilot as countries where there is a significant ICE Student member population of whom only a limited number progress to Graduate membership of the ICE.

In doing so we hope to ensure those who engage will gain the benefits of a professional qualification for themselves, the local profession and society as a whole.

We will be assessing the success of this pilot programme over its 3-year time span.

Based on the outcome delivered in terms of membership, ICE knowledge sharing, networking and engagement in our professional qualification process, we will consider how best to continue to support engineers in the pilot countries and will also consider the case for any further roll-out of the programme.
