Graduate application information

This page shows what you need to do before you apply to become a Graduate Member (GMICE) of ICE. Find out what you must tell us about your qualifications, how you can certify your qualifications and how much it costs to apply.

This is a combined assessment of your qualifications and experience. It will let you know if you are ready to apply for a Professional Review at your preferred grade and, if not, what other options you have.

It’s for non-members of ICE who are experienced engineers and would like to apply for a Professional Review at chartered (CEng) or incorporated engineer (IEng) level.

When you apply, you’ll need to send us a number of documents, so we can assess your academic qualifications and professional experience.

Whatever the result, after the assessment you’ll automatically become an ICE graduate member.

How much does it cost?

Joining as a Graduate Member (GMICE) is the ideal step to help you become a professionally qualified civil engineer. It will help you get ahead in your career and is an important step on your way to one of our globally-recognised qualifications.

You’ll be able to build on your skills and record your development and, when ready, you can sit your Professional Review. You will also show your employers your commitment to the profession.

You can see below the information and documents you will need to upload as part of the application process. You can start your application via our online tool whenever you're ready.
