We want your ideas on how civil engineers can innovate for our latest series of blogs!
Tell us an idea you have to enhance an area of civil engineering and we'll get a relevant ICE member/expert in their field to review your idea and provide a response and review directly on the blog. The best ideas will each win a £25 Amazon voucher!
Throughout 2021 and beyond ICE is focusing on four main themes that we, as civil engineers can directly impact, so ideally, we'd like your idea to hit one of these touchpoints below:
You might have a great idea to reduce heat loss in homes, or restructuring cycle lanes to ease transport congestion - helping to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. Maybe you have an idea on carbon capture and storage? Or accelerating the move away from petrol and diesel to electric vehicles by 2030? Maybe you think your idea could help provide clean water and sanitation to less developed rural areas in countries across the world?
Whatever your genius idea, make sure it hits one of the touchpoints below and we'll review and publish together with the expert response!
Send us your idea as a Word document (via the submit form below) for publication over the course of the next few weeks. Closing date for submissions is 20 Feb 2021. There’s a £25 Amazon voucher up for grabs for each of the most popular five blog pitches.
The ICE Editorial team will choose the best five pitches based on a combination of innovation, theme relevance, topicality and reach. As one of the criteria is reach, we’ll provide you with the link to your blog and encourage you to share it with your networks so that as many people get so read it as possible. As usual, we reserve the right to edit blogs so that they hit the right note and depending on the volume of blogs we receive, we may not be able to publish them all.
Please ensure that your blog pitches are between 800-1,000 words. Remember to include your name and email, job title/professional status.
You can also email your submission at: [email protected]
And good luck!
