New members are being sought for ICE’s Council, which is responsible for representing the views of the membership to the Trustee Board.
The 35 elected-member ICE Council steers how the Institution can best deliver value to society and its members. It supports the trustees in ensuring ICE is considered a global centre of excellence and helps set the high-level strategy for the ICE to meet the challenges and needs of the 21st century.
Members can nominate themselves or a colleague and would serve a three-year term of office with effect from 3 November 2020. The Council meets four times a year, usually at One Great George Street in London.
The 13 vacancies to be filled this year are:
- Four general members (comprising Corporate and Technician Members), who are elected by the professionally qualified members worldwide and do not represent any particular constituency.
- Three regional members – one member to represent each of the following regions: Hong Kong, North East England and Wales. Candidates may be Corporate or Technician Members and are elected by the professionally qualified members in the relevant regions.
- Three international members – to represent Americas, Asia Pacific (non-Hong Kong) and Middle East & Africa; elected by the professionally qualified members in the relevant international regions.
- One graduate member (ICE Graduate Member) elected by ICE Graduate Members.
