If you have several years' or more experience in civil engineering, achieving a professional qualification is within reach. A short informal discussion with the team at ICE's Membership Support Centre will advise you on your next step.

Many experienced engineers have benefited from attaining IEng MICE or CEng MICE, transforming their careers and gaining a stronger voice in the industry.

As Owaiz Khan IEng MICE, an Engineering Manager at MGF explains:
"In the engineering industry, ICE carries significantly more weight than any other professional body. I wanted the best, and that meant demonstrating my qualifications, experience and attributes. Instead of letting life hold me back, I decided to knuckle down and do it – because I really wanted it.

"Overall, gaining my professional qualification has given me far greater credibility and authority. In fact, I was fast-tracked to management promotion, so my career has come on leaps and bounds."

Zirui Jones CEng MICE, a Principal Engineer at AECOM has also benefited greatly:
"I saw becoming qualified with ICE as the pinnacle of my professional achievements. Having been a civil engineer since 2006, I already had the right level of experience – so I wanted to translate it into the highest form of professional recognition.

"I found that ICE gives you plenty of support. I attended the Career Appraisal workshop which was absolutely invaluable in steering me towards what the reviewers were looking for."
