ICE’s Policy and External Affairs Committee is seeking a range of experienced members to become policy fellows. These volunteers will act as the face of the institution while engaging with policy and decision makers.

The policy fellow roles will support ICE in being more responsive to policymakers, and offer additional expert assurance on the work produced the Policy and External Affairs division.

The current areas of expertise ICE is seeking policy fellows in include how to put in place the right frameworks at UK and sub-national level to identify and prioritise the right infrastructure interventions, how to decarbonise infrastructure at the sub-national level, how to improve the delivery of UK infrastructure, and how to fund and finance national infrastructure investment.

Keith Howells, ICE’s vice president for policy, said: "The ICE’s aim, in engaging with policymakers, is to optimise the role of infrastructure as part of the creation of a more sustainable world. To achieve that, the institution provides advice, insight and counsel to policy officials and decision makers.

"Policy fellows will be active volunteers who will help achieve this ambition, using their expertise and influence to help guide the creation of effective infrastructure policy.”

The policy fellows will be supported with regular briefings, training and the opportunity to represent the institution in front of policy and decision makers.

The role will include opportunities to act as member lead on the creation of new ICE policy positions, speak at events on behalf of ICE, support briefing sessions with policymakers and provide evidence, for example, to select committees.
