This year's G&S pub quiz raised an impressive £453 for Simon Community, Northern Ireland's leading charity for the homeless.

The pub quiz began with a presentation from Amanda Scott of Simon Community, who showed a moving short video on homelessness. The video followed the story of a 20-year-old man living in Simon Community accommodation and highlighted how a young person can be left homeless due to unforeseen circumstances.

"Civil engineers help shape our infrastructure, and it is important that they remain appreciative of all circumstances within that infrastructure," said Ruth Kelly, Chair of ICE G&S.

Following the presentation, teams with members of ICE, IStructE and EI competed against each other to win the coveted title of quiz champions – AECOM won first place.

Many thanks to Ronan Carlin and his team for organising and running the quiz, to Jacobs and McFarland Associates for their generous sponsorship, and to the G&S members across the three institutions for their participation and the funds raised for charity.
