Engineers built the beautiful Hong Kong skyline
International Women in Engineering Day 2020 (INWED20) is on 23 June 2020.
This year's theme for INWED is 'Shape the World' and how engineers work tirelessly every single day to make our world better. There is also a strong focus on sustainable development and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and how all engineers are working towards a greener world.
To mark the day, HKIE together with ICE, is launching the 'Proud to be Women in Engineering Photo Challenge' (#ProudToBeWIE). The challenge is open to all engineers and friends in Hong Kong.
We're encouraging women engineers to take photos of themselves together with a completed engineering project or product to demonstrate how engineers 'Shape the World'!
Male engineers and non-engineers are also invited to do the same, but you need to invite at least one female engineer in the photo!
The aims of this event are to:
- Promote how engineers shape the world
- Reflect that engineering is not a profession only for men
How to enter
Photos can be posted on your Facebook page with the hashtag #ProudToBeWIE #INWED20 #ShapeTheWorld. You are also invited to nominate at least 5 friends to join this challenge!
