ICE's East Midlands Merit Awards (EMMAs) 2021 are now open for entries.
These annual awards provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate all aspects of civil engineering and are presented to the best civil engineering projects, people and ground-breaking research across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
Nominations are open to projects substantially completed in 2020 and all types and sizes of project are considered - from local schemes to multi-million cross-county infrastructure work.
The winners will be announced at the ICE East Midlands Merit Awards Ceremony, which is due to take place on Friday, 4 June 2021.
Award categories include best large, medium and small projects, as well as team achievement and design, studies and research projects. Engineers' personal ontributions will be judged in three categories: William Kemp Award, ICE STEM Ambassador of the Year and ICE Civil Engineering Achiever of the Year.
The submitting organisations are encouraged to show how they've used environmentally sustainable practices in delivering projects. This year, all project submissions stand a chance to win a new accolade for sustainability.
Jo Barnett, Regional Director, ICE East and West Midlands, said: “These awards are the perfect opportunity for our local civil engineers to celebrate their achievements across the region. We look forward to receiving a wide range of entries that showcase civil engineering at its very best in the region.”
