ICE NI will host the 2019 Thomas Telford Trophy at the Hilton Hotel in Templepatrick on 2 September 2019. The venue was announced at the end of this year’s event, which was hosted by ICE East Midlands at Nott’s Golf Club in Hollinwell.
The Thomas Telford Trophy is ICE's premier golf occassion. The competition takes place between between teams of four from ICE's 16 UK regions.
This will be the third time the popular event will be hosted by the Northern Ireland region. The previous two events were held at Royal Portrush in 1991 and 2007, the latter of which the host team won.
Following their victories in 2016 and 2017, the team, which was sponsored by Arup and Graham Construction, travelled to Hollinwell looking to achieve a hat-trick of victories.
Although the team did not emulate their previous success, Gavin Wilson and new society member, Ryan Murray, secured first place in the St Andrew’s foursomes.
The society has provided an important social dimension for ICE members in Northern Ireland for over 50 years. They look forward to welcoming teams from across the UK to contest the 34th playing of the Thomas Telford Trophy in 2019.
