ICE will be walking in the Pride in London Parade
for the first time this year.
Organised by ICE London, LGBT members and allies are invited to join the celebration on Saturday 6 July 2019.
This year saw a record number of applications to be a part of Pride, with 594 groups, making it the third biggest annual one-day event in the UK capital, after the New Year fireworks and the London Marathon.
The 2019 theme is Pride Jubilee, celebrating 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising
- the start of the modern LGBT+ rights movement.
Climate Action Week
The Pride in London Parade will also coincide with London’s first Climate Action Week
, which runs 1-8 July 2019.
ICE will be sharing the great work our members do in improving people's lives and a call to action to the public to ‘fight the fatberg
’ and recognise water
as an important resource.
Jonathan Baggs, ICE London and South East England Director, said:
"I'm delighted that this year, for the first time, we'll be walking in London Pride Parade. 2019 marks important milestones for Pride Jubilee and London’s inaugural Climate Action Week.
"Walking in London Pride is our opportunity to show the diverse individuals that work within the civil engineering profession and to celebrate the contributions our members make towards big societal challenges such as climate change."
