The Emerging Engineers Award (EEA) encourages and rewards the communication of civil engineering ideas, research and best practice in projects and design. Student, graduate and trainee technician members of ICE are invited to submit a paper on a civil engineering topic in the format of research, report or an essay.

The ICE Wales Cymru short list is:

  • Ellen Thomas: An ICE Student member and a QUEST scholar with a graduate job starting at Morgan Sindall once she finishes this semester
  • Andrew Ayres: An ICE Student member with Cardiff University
  • Nick Trump: A graduate engineer with Mott McDonald and an ICE Graduate and Student committee member

The next stage of the competition will take place in the first week of June when each finalist will be asked to present their full papers to the Wales judging panel.

The presentations will take place digitally this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
