The latest advice and guidance on managing design-related risk has been published.

The Design Risk Management guide, produced by the Institution, has been revised to ensure construction industry professionals have access to the most up-to-date guidance.

Recognising that risks within the construction industry have the potential to add delay, cost, objection or harm to a project, this guide outlines ways to reduce and mitigate those potential threats.

Through its simple and pragmatic approach, provides the reader with an understanding of how to discharge certain duties relating to the management of risk where projects fall within the remit of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

This risk-based management process, outlined within the guide, creates new opportunities in project delivery that can be reflected within an organisation’s business processes. Through taking a pragmatic approach, DRM not only builds upon an organisation’s existing good engineering practice, it helps to provide a more holistic solution for all stakeholders.
