Year 7 students, and those in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) clubs, from North East schools are invited to enter the annual Inspire competition sponsored by Costain.
Teams that enter the competition have to produce a two minute video and answer the question, 'How are civil engineers creating a sustainable world?'
Entries will be assessed by a panel of professional engineers. The winning team will receive a cash prize for their school.
Penny Marshall, Regional Director for ICE in the North East, said: “Our annual Inspire initiative is always a fantastic showcase of the engineers of the future and a fun, engaging way to learn about the discipline.
“In order to meet future demand for skills across our industry, it’s vital that we ensure there are enough enthusiastic young people who will take up the engineering mantle and deliver the infrastructure projects for many years to come.”
To enter, in the first instance a registration form must be completed. Completed forms should be emailed to: [email protected]
before the deadline of 5pm on Friday 18 December 2020.
