Inspiring the next generation is a key part of the ICE 200 celebration and on 31 May 2018 ICE will host EngineeringFest – an interactive STEM event at Diggerland.

Located in Kent, the construction based theme park offers a relevant and interactive setting in which to engage children and their families for a fun day out, learning about engineering.

EngineeringFest is one of the ICE 200 flagship events in South East. It is supported by Patrick Parsons, an engineering consultancy established over 50 years ago.

Patrick Parsons Director Steve Dellow comments: "We are delighted to sponsor this event in what is turning out to be an amazing year celebrating ICE's 200 year anniversary.

"We are always keen to support STEM events and activities and this gives the children and our future generation a great opportunity to get real hands on experience of what a civil engineer does. It also gives me a chance to operate a huge excavator myself."

EngineeringFest is being held as part of the ICE 200 and a year of public events to educate the public about the contribution civil engineers make to our daily lives - and inspire the next generation into the industry.

If you or your organisation are interested in participating and supporting the event please contact jemma.ralphs@ice.org.uk for more information.
