Presidential Commission into ICE governance begins

A review of how the Institution is governed is taking place over 2019.

The Presidential Commission into ICE governance held its first meeting on 6 November 2018, having been requested to undertake a review of the governance of the Institution to ensure ICE delivers its charitable Royal Charter objects as effectively as possible.

The members designate of the Commission reviewed the draft Terms of Reference, which were then approved by the ICE Council at its meeting on 11 December 2018.

In proposing candidates for appointment as members of the Commission, a range of people were chosen. They reflect the diverse nature of the Institution, together with several independent external members of experience and authority.  The Commission has been kept to a size that will encourage effective working.
