Shortlist announced for ICE London Awards 2020

Top infrastructure projects and notable contributions from members recognised in the ICE London Awards 2020 shortlist.

Continuing its celebration of outstanding civil engineering achievement, innovation and ingenuity, the ICE London Civil Engineering Awards have shortlisted the top infrastructure projects and members who have contributed greatly to the improves the way we deliver infrastructure and its benefits to the local community.

This year three new categories will be awarded; Digital Engineering Award, ICE London STEM Ambassador of the Year and Rising Star Award.

Shortlisted projects

We are delighted to announce the 2020 shortlisted projects are:

  • Ashmead School Expansion, submitted by London Borough of Lewisham
  • Carpenters Land Bridge, GRAHAM
  • Claridge’s Hotel, submitted by McGee
  • Eastcote Town Centre Improvement, submitted by the Project Centre
  • Kings Scholars Pond, submitted Stantec
  • Leicester Square Hotel, submitted by McGee
  • London City Piling and Deck Works, submitted by BAM Nuttall
  • ThamesLink Programme Automatic Train Operation, submitted by Network Rail
  • Wembley E03 Canada Gardens, submitted by John Sisk & Son Ltd
  • White Hart Lane Station Upgrade, Transport for London

Jonathan Baggs, ICE London Regional Director said:

“I commend all the shortlisted projects for going the extra step to deliver important infrastructure to ensure that the built environment meets the needs of the community. These strange and unprecedented times remind us of, and show the crucial role civil engineers play in delivering essential services and enhancing the places in which people live”.

The ten projects will now go head-to-head in the ICE London People Choice competition – voted for by the public. Running for a whole month, the public will have a say on which project they think has made the most positive contribution to London. Further details including how to vote will be announced shortly on our awards page.
